Room Phone Number
Welcome Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians of the Class of 2024!
For those families who do not know me, I would like to introduce myself. I am the HSTAT Parent Coordinator, Barbara Yarshevitz. I have been here at HSTAT since 2004.
I am so happy to welcome all of you to The High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology; the high school of choice with outstanding statistics for excellence! I hope that we will build a great relationship as your child’s high school years go by. Please save my contact information for reference. I am available in a number of ways. Feel free to stop by and say hello or to get help with any questions you may have. My office is Room 156 on the main floor. My room phone number is: 718-759-3427. Please send a note to my E-mail address at – BYarshevitz@schools.nyc.gov asking me to add your e-mail to my 9th Grade Parent e-mail Distribution List. This has become a very important connection here for our parents. Mine is a government issued e-mail address, so you will need to add my e-mail address to your own e-mail contact list to prevent my messages to you from being spammed. (THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT STEP FOR US TO REMAIN IN TOUCH.) With this in place, you will be sure that your account accepts the New York City Department of Education E-mails that I will send to you. (Sorry for the inconvenience, unfortunately many parent e-mail addresses have been rejected because of neglect of this issue.) You will then receive timely and important information from me and important HSTAT documents to save to your computer to assist you. You can also get help from me quickly this way if need be. It is certain that if you do not hear from me regularly your e-mail address is not working here. Feel free to call me for help with it. We also have a wonderful HSTAT school website at www.hstat.org and a parent teacher contact school website at www.pupilpath.com Your personal registration information will be sent to your home in the mail from our Principal Ms. Xhenete Shepard so keep an eye out for it. I will also send to your home a monthly newsletter called The Parent Coordinator Communicator. Please save it and look for it in the mail. It will have valuable information for you to refer to for the year. I will do my best to help you, and/or to connect you with the correct person for assistance! If you do not receive my newsletter by mid-October then please contact our Attendance Office at 718-759-3451/3452 to check on your mailing address and phone contact in our main files. Your correct home/contact information is very, very important to us all so if it ever changes please let the Attendance Office know.
Kindly make every effort to attend all meetings and remain active in the HSTAT – PTA (Parent Teachers Association).
It is your cooperative journey to ensure that your child has all the assistance necessary to get through the challenging high school years. The meetings are held monthly and the scheduled dates and parent participation workshops will be in my first newsletter mailed home to you. Your President of the PTA- is always happy to speak with you and we welcome your suggestions. Stay active and involved in your young adults time here in high school. We appreciate all your contributions in whatever capacity possible. If at any time you would like to volunteer your service, please contact me. It is always my pleasure to serve our parents.
On behalf of our dedicated Principal Ms. Xhenete Shepard, her administrative staff, and the entire TELE community –
May your years here at TELE bring you and your young adult joy and true accomplishment.
Best Wishes for you and your child’s success,
Parent Coordinator HSTAT
