Dear HSTAT Class of 2030,

Congratulations on your acceptance to the High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology, and welcome to our community! You are among a select group of students who were chosen to attend our school from nearly 3,000 applicants. We are delighted that you will be joining us this fall.  In this letter, we are asking you to complete several forms. This will help us to prepare for your arrival in the fall. We know that there is a lot to do.  You can also find the forms on our website www.hstat.org 

 

  • New Family Meet and Greet -  We would like to invite our incoming students and guardians to tour HSTAT, hear about our programs and take ID card pictures. *Please keep in mind that the NYRR Brooklyn Half Marathon is also the same morning.  Consider taking public transportation or leaving extra time to travel. 

 

  • Summer Bridge Program Join us for fun this summer! Get to know your classmates and teachers in a low-stakes environment. July 13 - July 30, 2026, Monday-Thursday, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm. Please register by Monday, May 18th, 2026.

 

  • Emergency Contact - It is very important for us to have contact information for families and students. Please complete the paper blue card included in this packet and bring it with you when you come to the New Family Meet and Greet. 

 

  • NYC Schools Account for guardians and parents - This account helps us communicate with you regarding your child’s progress in school. Please make sure you are registered. If you need the account creation code, you can contact your child’s middle school.  

 

 

 

Lastly, if you have decided to attend a different school, please remember to indicate as such in your myschools account.

It is very important that we have emergency contact information on file for your child.  Please complete the enclosed Blue Card and return it when you come to the Meet and Greet on May 16th, 2026.

  • Emergency Contact It is very important that we have the most recent contact information for you and your emergency contacts. Please check the Parent Portal to be sure your contact information is up to date.
  • Housing Questionnaire Students who are in a temporary housing situation have access to additional supplies and support. Please complete this form to indicate your housing situation.
  • Media Consent Consent for HSTAT to use photos of your child and other media for DOE purposes, such as celebratory recognition on our website.
  • Military/Higher Education OPT OUT You can indicate that you do not wish to receive information from military recruiters and/or institutions of higher education.

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians,

I am Yvette Vega, Parent Coordinator at The High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology (HSTAT).  It is my pleasure to welcome you to our community, renowned for its excellence and impressive statistics.   

Please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will be happy to assist you or direct you to the appropriate person.  I am committed to serving our families and look forward to working with you.  

Our Parent Teachers Association (PTA) meetings are held monthly via ZOOM. As a parent, you are automatically a member of the PTA, and your participation is invaluable in ensuring your child's success during their high school years. We appreciate your contributions in any capacity and encourage you to volunteer your services. 

I wish you and your student a joyous and accomplished time at HSTAT.

Hello HSTAT Families! 

The HSTAT PTA executive board welcomes all our HSTAT families this school year. As we begin this new school year, we would like to remind all our families that you are automatically members of our PTA and have voting rights within our organization. Our PTA’s goal is to help support our students and families during their high school years. There is so much we can do together, so we invite everyone to support and participate in the PTA and its efforts. One way to participate in our PTA is by family donations. Your donations help us support student activities, our greenhouse, community events, teacher requests, and scholarships. At HSTAT we ask that each family contribute $20 to our PTA, but any donation you can give is appreciated. Family donations and participation are so important!
