 HSTAT's New Wing Opens

On January 30, 2008, the opening of the spring term, classes began their work in the new rooms of our long-awaited building addition. The new wing replaces classroom space in the trailers and the temporary rooms in the auditorium and balcony. There are 16 new rooms, each equipped with a TV, DVD player and computers. The rooms will be air-conditioned in summer and have been supplied with specially designed furniture to facilitate group work. Demolition will now begin on the auditorium and in ten months HSTAT will have a completely new 900 seat theatre space.

 HSTAT In The News!

HSTAT received a coveted grade of "A" from the Chancellor on this year's Progress report. Possible grades ranged from A to F and there were comparatively few schools accorded this highest honor. HSTAT was also judged by outside agencies hired to conduct a Quality Review n and here again scored a grade of "Outstanding", the highest possible achievement. More information and ratings can be found in the book, The Best Public High Schools in New York City.
