HSTAT Hosts Blood Drive

By Searrah Hector

Donating blood to those in need of it is done by the students and staff at the High School of Telecommunications Arts and Technology (HSTAT).

Twice a year the New York Blood Center comes to HSTAT to get donors to donate their blood to patients across America. The blood that is donated is then transferred to New York City hospitals.

In the auditorium of HSTAT, there are many students waiting in line in order to donate their blood to the receivers. For a lot many of them this was a easy accomplishment because they donated their blood each time the New York Center came to HSTAT, but for others this wasn’t so easy being that it was their first time.

After the donors are done they may walk away feeling a tad bit drowsy and weak but its okay. The process may have been quite long, but it was worth wild. Who else gets to go home knowing that they saved a life.

As the saying goes “Save A Life Donate Blood.”
