The Black Friday Sales By Lillian Wu This is the times of the year where people start to celebrate the holidays and the greatness of discounts in stores. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. It began in 1970s, but has gotten more attention since year 2002. On Black Friday, people usually shopped for Christmas presents and shopped for cheap discounts. The great discounts are what consumers are always looking for on Black Friday. During Black Friday, the deals are always better, because people get all the gifts they want all at the same time and are satisfied with the prices. Sure the malls and stores were full of crowds, but it gives people the feeling that the holidays have begun. People pushing each other to get the merchandise and most of all crowded stores can get a whole lot crazy during this time of the year. However, you cannot get deals like this elsewhere. The surveys that a portion of students at HSTAT have taken show the following. Many of the students were spending at least $100 or shop till they drop their wallet. This is the happiest time for wallets because people are happily spending their wallets with no worries. Now $800 may sound exaggerated but it depended on the items the person wanted to buy during Black Friday sales. The HP laptop with 250 GB hard drive and 3GB memory (15.6 inches) cost only $298.00 at Wal-Mart. During Black Friday, people prefer to buy tech gear, Christmas gifts and new clothes. Flash drives like SanDisk 4GB cost only at $8.00 at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart was such a great place to get great presents and they have everything on sale. For people who wanted clothing, Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Macys, JC Penney and more clothing stores were having sales that were amazingly cheap and cheaper than usual. Aeropostale had 50% to 70% off their whole entire store on Black Friday. On Black Friday, Aeropstale was full of people and it was hard to squeeze into it. At American Eagle Outfitters was doing a buy one get one 50% off and the whole entire stock is 25% off. The best time to go the Black Friday sales was as early as possible unless you were going with a mob of people. Students were obviously attracted by the prices and the discounts or else they would not have gone to Black Friday sales. The most interesting thing about Black Friday according to my surveys was the cheap but great merchandises that the stores were offering. Some merchandise were what people wanted the most but they just do not have the money to spare from their day-to-day budget. During Black Friday, everything was on sale, so people can find everything they want at once, regardless of the crowds. These great deals were irresistible especially to people who loved to shop for deals and the items of their interest. These were the great but cheap merchandise that we all want to buy but do not have the money: 8GB iPod 5th Generation Nano (Blue) Normal sales--$149.99 Black Friday--$ 159.97

On Black Friday, I went to 34th Street
and Herald Square, and it was crazy over there. I went to shop at Macys
first, and the first thing I noticed was the crowd and their killer prices
on merchandise. The whole store was crowded with people; it was only
