Fall Carnival falls through

By Kelly Sae

Red Cross’ Halloween Party was canceled because there was not enough time and ideas to plan it, so they planned to have a Fall Carnival instead.

This year, High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology (HSTAT) Red Cross and Key Club are cooperating to host events. A few weeks before the Halloween Party, there were changes that it was canceled. Now HSTAT’s Red Cross is planning to host a Fall Carnival instead. The Fall Carnival will be on November 20th, 2009.

The reason to this cancellation is because Red Cross and Key Club did not have enough time to plan the Halloween Party.

“We didn’t have enough time”, Annie said, “Not enough ideas either.”

Even though the Halloween Party was canceled, the Fall Carnival will have previous ideas from the Halloween Party in it such as the creative rooms.

But they were originally planning to host a Halloween Party. Before the Halloween Party was canceled Annie Huang had some ideas in mind.

“We are not playing it safe,” Annie Huang said, “I say we go all out this Halloween Event.”

Annie Huang is the secretary and event planner in Red Cross and Nelson Nguyen is the President in Red Cross. Annie gave out ideas that were originally planned for the Halloween Event.

“We plan to have more fun such as having candy rooms, a Red Cross’ Art room and a post card room,” Huang said, “and definitely scary rooms.”

“We are planning to apply Halloween themes and games without having it be too noticeable” Annie said, “because it is a Fall Carnival.”

“We're not sure about this, but we might also have a Halloween-Inspired Rooms” Nelson said, “for those who miss Halloween already.”

The Fall Carnival will be located at HSTAT’s first floor and the new wing. Red Cross is hoping that the Fall Carnival will be successful and fun.
